Premium-grade brown plastic wall plugs, 42mm long for a 7mm drill hole, in a bag of 1000. The colour code makes it easy to grab the right plug and drill bit on site – brown plugs take 4.5 – 6.0mm screws (gauge 8 – 12).

Made from a premium grade polymer for better performance than standard plugs, with anti-rotation fins that stop them spinning as you drive the screw and stop them dropping out when you’re fixing overhead. The 1,000 bag is the trade size for fitters, electricians and kitchen and bathroom installers.

FAQs

What drill bit do I need for brown plugs?

Use a 7mm masonry drill bit and drill slightly deeper than the plug length.

What screw should I use?

Brown plugs take 4.5 – 6.0mm screws (gauge 8 – 12). The screw should be the plug length plus the thickness of whatever you’re fixing. See our wood screws range.

Can I use these in plasterboard?

No – plastic plugs are for solid walls (concrete, brick and block). For plasterboard or hollow walls use a cavity fixing.

What do the plug colours mean?

The colour shows the drill and screw size: yellow for 5mm holes and small screws, red for 5.5mm holes, brown for 7mm holes and blue for 10mm holes and heavier screws.
