Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Dynamite Hardware Limited ("Dynamite Hardware", "we", "us" and "our") handles personal information when you visit www.dynamitehardware.com, buy from us, contact us, or request a quotation, survey or installation, including through a Facebook or Instagram lead form.
1. Who we are and how to contact us
The data controller is DYNAMITE HARDWARE LIMITED, 2 Woodfarm Cottages, Kennelsfort Road Upper, Palmerstown, Dublin 20, D20 YY90, Ireland. Email: sales@dynamitehardware.com. Telephone: 01 910 9445.
2. What information we collect
Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect:
- Contact details: name, email address, telephone number and addresses you provide.
- Shopping information: orders, products, account details, delivery and collection instructions, invoices, payment status, returns and customer-service messages. Card payments are handled through payment service providers.
- Project and quotation details: the products or services requested; door or floor preferences; approximate quantities, measurements and photos you choose to provide; timing; property area; and address where needed for delivery, survey or fitting.
- Marketing preferences: whether you opted into promotional emails, and any subsequent opt-out.
- Website usage: technical information such as browser, device, IP address, shopping activity and cookie or analytics information, subject to the relevant technology and privacy choices.
Information may come from you directly, through our website, or from a service you use to contact us, including Facebook and Instagram lead forms.
3. Why we use information and our legal bases
- Orders and services: to process purchases, payments, deliveries, collection, returns and support; generally to perform a contract or take steps you request before entering a contract.
- Quotations and installations: to respond to an enquiry, assess your requirements, contact you about that project, provide a quote, arrange a survey, schedule work and carry out reasonable follow-up about the same enquiry; generally steps at your request before a contract and our legitimate interests in responding to customers.
- Business records, safety and fraud prevention: to maintain records, protect systems, handle disputes and comply with legal requirements; under legitimate interests or legal obligations, as appropriate.
- Optional promotional emails: to send occasional offers and product updates where we have your separate marketing consent. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Website analytics and advertising: to operate and improve our online services and assess marketing, using consent where required for non-essential cookies and similar technologies and another appropriate legal basis where applicable.
4. Facebook and Instagram quotation enquiries
If you submit one of our Facebook or Instagram lead forms, we receive the details you submit, which may include your name, email, phone number, preferred door or flooring offer, proposed timescale and the general area where the work is required. We use those details to discuss your requested quotation, check the service area, arrange any survey, and follow up on your original project enquiry. We may record the enquiry in our customer-management system so that we can manage the quote and follow-up.
Submitting an enquiry is not permission to send you unrelated promotional emails. Where our form provides a separate, optional marketing checkbox, we only use that enquiry as an email marketing opt-in if you positively tick it. Leaving it unticked does not affect your ability to request a quotation. We do not treat the enquiry as permission to send promotional texts.
Meta also processes information through Facebook and Instagram under its own terms and Privacy Policy.
5. Marketing emails and contact preferences
If you consent to promotional emails, you can unsubscribe using the link in a marketing email or by emailing sales@dynamitehardware.com. We will respect a valid withdrawal of consent. We may retain a minimal record of your unsubscribe request to help avoid contacting you again for marketing.
Communications necessary to reply to your enquiry, follow up about that specific quotation, or organise requested work are separate from unrelated marketing. If you choose to communicate via WhatsApp, WhatsApp's own privacy terms also apply.
6. Sharing information and service providers
We use or share personal data where necessary for the purposes above, including with Shopify (our online store), payment providers, couriers, installers, surveyors and other contractors involved in a requested job, and relevant business software or communication providers such as Zoho where used to manage enquiries, quotations and records. Advertising and analytics providers, including Meta, may process information in connection with the services we use and your applicable privacy choices. We may also disclose data if legally required or needed to protect our legal rights.
We do not use lead-form submissions to provide customer contact lists to unrelated organisations for those organisations' own unsolicited direct marketing. Advertising technologies may involve sharing website interaction data with advertising providers, subject to applicable privacy settings and laws.
7. Cookies and advertising technology
Our online store uses necessary technologies for functions such as baskets, checkout, security and preferences. Other technologies may be used for analytics and advertising. Where the law requires consent for non-essential cookies or tracking, that consent must be obtained through the relevant privacy controls. You can also control cookies using browser settings, though some site functions may be affected.
For further information about relevant providers, see Shopify's cookie information and Meta's Privacy Policy.
8. International data processing
Some service providers may process personal data outside Ireland or the European Economic Area. Where international transfer rules apply, an appropriate legal transfer mechanism or safeguard is required, such as an applicable adequacy decision or approved contractual clauses. Specific arrangements depend on the provider and service.
9. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as reasonably needed to manage orders, quotations, services, relevant follow-up and disputes, and to meet any applicable legal or accounting requirements. The precise period depends on the type of record and its purpose. Marketing preferences are retained as needed to administer subscriptions and unsubscribe requests. You may ask us about retention of your own information.
10. Your rights
Under applicable data protection law, you may have rights to access personal data, correct it, ask for erasure, restrict or object to processing, receive data in a portable form, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. These rights may have lawful exceptions. To make a request, contact sales@dynamitehardware.com. We may need to verify your identity.
If you have concerns about how your data is handled, you may complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission.
11. Security and children
We take reasonable steps to protect customer information and work with service providers to support secure systems. No system can be guaranteed completely secure. Our website and quotation services are not directed at children under 18.
12. Changes
We may revise this policy to reflect changes in our services, technology or legal requirements. The updated version will be published here with its revision date and further notice provided where required.
