FAQs
Shield anchor or throughbolt – which should I use?
Shield anchors work in concrete, solid brick and block and allow the bolt to be removed. Throughbolts are quicker to install but are designed for solid concrete only.
What bolt fits these shields?
They take an M12 metric bolt, stud, hook or eye. Choose a bolt length that allows for the shield length plus the fixture thickness.
What size hole do I drill?
Drill to the outside diameter of the shield (not the bolt size) and slightly deeper than the shield length. Always clean the hole before inserting the anchor.
Can I use them in hollow block?
No – shield anchors need a solid substrate. For hollow block or brick use chemical resin with a resin sleeve.
