Acoustic 12.5mm plasterboard, 2438 x 1200mm (8ft x 4ft) – a blue-faced sound board for stud partitions, wall linings and ceilings that need better acoustic performance than standard plasterboard. Use it to cut noise between bedrooms, home offices, apartments and living spaces.

FAQs

How many plasterboards do I need?
Each 2438 x 1200mm (8ft x 4ft) sheet covers about 2.93 m². Divide your wall or ceiling area in m² by 2.93 and round up, allowing roughly 10% extra for cuts around doors, windows and openings.

Is the price per sheet?
Yes, the price is for one 12.5mm 2438 x 1200mm sheet (slab), including VAT.

How much will acoustic plasterboard reduce noise?
Sound reduction depends on the whole wall or ceiling build-up: the studs, the cavity insulation, how many layers of board you use and how well joints and gaps are sealed. For best results, use acoustic board with acoustic insulation and seal all perimeter gaps.

How do I finish it?
Tape and joint the tapered edges as you would with standard plasterboard, or apply a skim finish.
